Inside Bay Area New Zealand Maori poet Tuwhare dies

Tuwhare died Wednesday in a home for the elderly in the southern city of Dunedin. He had been in poor health for several years. The cause of death was not immediately released. Tuwhare s work spanning more than years was popular among poetry connoisseurs and general readers alike. He also published at least other volumes of poems as well as several plays. and their capacity for angry protest at the dispossession of Maori land and culture it noted. Tuwhare is survived by three sons. His funeral service will be held in Kaikohe on North Island.

Introduction The 2007 Hyundai Elantra has been totally redesigned. Now, for the first time, the Elantra features handsome styling with nice lines. The increased size has been used to good advantage inside the spacious cabin; not only that, there are storage compartments galore. It's clear that someone has been doing some thinking about this car. The seats are very comfortable and it's quiet at speed. It's long-legged for a compact car, and can run 80 miles per hour without straining. The brakes are excellent, and the cornering is good. It can seat up to five, but the Elantra is more comfortable with four. The back seats offer ample hip room and adequate legroom. Because the Elantra generally costs less than the competition, it might well be a long-term bargain. However, resale value always needs to be considered, and that competition includes the stalwarts from Honda and Toyota. Model Lineup The 2007 Hyundai Elantra comes in three trim levels, all of which use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Buyers have a choice between five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission ($1000) for each trim level. The GLS ($13,395) is the most basic and comes standard with power steering, power locks, windows and keyless entry, power heated mirrors, tinted glass, a 60/40 split rear folding seat with access to the trunk, and 15-inch wheels with full-size plastic wheel covers. The Preferred Package for the GLS ($1500) includes things that most car buyers consider necessary: air conditioning, AM/FM/CD six-speaker sound system, cruise control and foglamps. XM satellite radio is built into the sound system. The SE ($15,695) is the sporty model and includes all the options in the GLS Preferred Package, plus a telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, and 16-inch alloy wheels with wider profile tires. But no way I was going to spend my do nothing holiday worrying about Christmas decorations for the resort. And no way I was going to meddle with someone else s finished work. Felt quite bad about it. At first Mummy seemed to be on my side so I was even more determined not to give in. But suddenly she too began persuading me. So in the end I grudgingly agreed to help out with the redecoration. I went and did research on the Internet. Da! ddy suggested a nice little English cottage covered in snow. The pictures on the Internet were rather pretty too. So Mummy suggested cream crackers those big RM . tins of square crackers people normally dip in Milo yum . The next day Daddy brought me out to shop for some materials styrofoam cotton wool brushes etc. The following day was painting day. Again more awful stink those who have used black emulsion paint before would recognize that horrible mouldy smell . But voila Look at the product Humungous MnMs each the size of half a tennis ball. I don t have photos of the cracker bricks in the process of being made unfortunately. This so reminds me of the good old Float days. Some were crackers wide some and a half. Ava Elizabeths Homebirth

I m so excited to finally share it with everyone. I had been having contractions off and on for weeks. Finally on the th they developed somewhat of a pattern mins and were getting stronger. I called my MW and doula to give them a heads up. I got in the shower while she was on her way. I alternated between the couch and the birth ball. She would also do light touch to my back and down my arms. it felt heavenly and took my mind off the contractions. So we both knew it was a possibility she wouldn t be able to attend my birth. Around noon my contractions picked up again every mins on the dot and I couldn t sleep anymore. I was so glad I had told DH to take dd to my parents that morning. There is no way I would ve ben able to handle her the way I was feeling. Now they were coming every mins. My friend arrived about an hour later with food and movies that was so sweet of her. She was right as usual my contractions started coming every mins shortly after she a! rrived. After DH got home they picked up again. This was shortly before pm. they were now coming every mins and lasting anywhere from seconds. com At I felt a contraction coming on. they always started inmy back and would wrap around to my lower abdomen peak and then go away. This was felt a bit different. I was waiting for the peak but instead I felt this pressure and my waterbroke. I had very close together while sitting on the toliet and I knew things were about to pick up. I called my MW to let her know my water had broke and the contractions were picking up. I also called the replacement doula and let her know I needed her asap. She said she would be over in mins. I had my parnets bring dd over. I missed her and just wanted to see her for an hour or so. I got in the shower my parents and dd arrived and they ordered pizza and wings. The doula arrived and my friend left to go have dinner with her family. After I got out of the shower my contractions were becom! ing closer together and more intense. Our replacement doula was a massage therapist too. He was so sweet. My parents left and took dd with them and that s when things really got intense. I think it was around pm when my MW arrived. My contractions were min apart and I felt like I wasn t getting a break between them at all. I needed to use the restroom but as soon as I got up I had another contraction. I swear that was the longest walk to the toilet for a little trickle. More contractions in the bathroom and I would hold on to dh or slow dance. I was really having to breathe through my contractions and I felt like I was starting to lose it. She had to do it quickly because my contractions were so close. I was cm and completely thinned out. My cervix just needed to finish opening. I told dh I wanted to use the tub. it wasn t even full but I had to get in anyway. I only wanted to go if there were an emergency with the baby. I really did mean it at the time. everytime the doula and mw left the room I would beg dh to take me to the h! ospital. Inbetween contractions I felt like I wasn t in myself anymore. I was so relaxed and listening to the sound of the water. The water was cooling off so dh started to drain and refill the tub. He also turned the shower on and directed it on my belly. I got down on my hands and knees on a towel in the bathroom and started pushing. It wa so hard not to push. dh kept giving her some ype of oil that she was using so I wouldn t tear. Finally I was instructed to give little pushes and then to blow some more. I felt the ring of fire and her head was right there. DH said she was crowning as soon as I got down on the floor. Her head came out and I felt her rotate and I pushed again and felt her shoulders slide out. It was amazing DH kept asking what we had but they knew not to say anything. I wanted him to be the one to annoucne the sex. He was so excited to say we had another little girl. I kept saying I did it I was so excited and proud of myself. The doula had d! h pass the baby under me so I could hold her. DH cut the cord and helped me walk back to our bedroom. They got me and Ava all snuggled in and she nursed within the hour. The mw checked for tears and I didn t so we just applied cool compress to the area. My parents came back over with dd she was sleeping. The doula offered me water or juice every now and then. Everything was absolutely perfect. They just let us be and do whatever we wanted. I couldn t have asked for anything else. It was the most peaceful birthing experience and dh was my rock the entire time.

They still can t seem to read the names of the games off the front of the box. For someone who thinks parents should pay more attention and research they aren t helping them out much. Compare that to the information you get from a synopsis You ogle bikini girls and buy them bikinis. That s the whole point of the game. You buy guns and shoot aliens. In the story there s a love scene where you can see a girl s bum for a second. These games content are very different. As an individual it s my responsibility to evaluate whether or not something is an acceptable risk. Ratings provide a false sense of security and don t usually tell me anything until I play the game. with no one bothering to acknowledge the violence. So they wont even venture to ask about a game at the risk of coming off as a prude. Too many parents also apparently can t be bothered to look into what their kids are playing. Then again I ve seen parents getting games for childre! n which considerably more graphic imagery on the packaging. And I ve seen parents taking small children to see fairly intense movies. Too many parents can t be bothered to see what their kids are up to. And this is where the problem arises. They want to government to oversee everything so that they don t have to worry about anything. Parents aren t supposed to by cool they aren t supposed to be buddies.
